Training the trainers - global health edition!
In March, I worked with the Global Health Advocacy Incubator [GHAI] on a staff training program with my friend Jen from Rowen Strategies. GHAI supports civil society organizations that advocate for public health policies that reduce death and disease worldwide. Trainees were public health professionals from Columbia, Argentina, Jamaica, and the US. Throughout the three-day session in D.C., our goal was to train staff to become better trainers themselves and help them be confident in their facilitation when returning to their home countries.
Our training was divided into three parts: Self-reflection, tools learned and known, and simulation presentations. The results were staggering! Surveys conducted pre and post-training showed participants were 72% more confident in their training abilities from before training to completion.
